Improvisation a week

Finally!  A non-liturgical improvisation for this week’s post.  What a theme too!  Such a great hymn tune.  I’m pretty happy with it, although the beginning is a little rough.  In fact, I think it’s safe to say that it gets better as it goes along.  One thing to always keep in mind is your audience: this improvisation is fairly tame in terms of what I could do. I try to constantly add to my bag of tricks, but when performing in a small church in rural Pennsylvania, I figure it’s going to be more appreciated if it includes sounds that they recognize.  Although the penultimate section points to some more interesting sonorities.

And sorry about the closeness of the camera, there was no other spot to set it.  You really get to experience the console in a very personal way.
