Text:

I. Why do you gaze into the sky in astonishment? Even the snowcapped mountains know; and the rivers that come from them, That he has passed beyond our sight, Not to abandon us, but to bring us hope.

II. Stay awake! I have set my lamp to light the way; I even brought the oil in case of delay. For the hour is unknown and may come soon. The Lord may come at night or noon!

III. This agony I will bare, Please let the cup pass me by. I am weeping tears, I am sweating blood; This agony I will bare, Please let the cup pass me by. But I will do it, And by your will: I do it!

IV. Oh, that you would hear: the voice to whom all belongs, Greet Him with worship , Praises, psalms, and songs. Oh that you would hear: Harden not your hearts! His works are made known, God created the land and all its parts.

V. I have been satisfied, Fed with the finest wheat, That the earth will provide: Alleluia! And from the rock, Sweet as the sun, Honey of great stock, Alleluia!
